San Francisco’s de Young Museum hosts a ground-breaking manga exhibition until Jan. 25th!
You’ve felt it recently, haven’t you? That seismic cultural shift? It’s everywhere now.
Manga has taken the world by storm and become a global phenomenon. But the cultural impact that Japanese comics have had on the world didn’t just explode overnight. It’s been building up for quite some time.
San Francisco’s de Young Museum hosts the Art of Manga exhibit, a showcase that explores the creative process and narrative worlds of manga artists from the 1970s to now. The Art of Manga features 11 major manga artists across multiple publishers, including Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma ½, Inuyasha), Hirohiko Araki (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), and more.
The collection of original drawings from these artists has never been gathered under one exhibit before, even in Japan, making this truly a one-of-a-kind event. Don’t miss out on a chance to explore the world of manga and the evolution of the visual medium throughout history!
The Art of Manga exhibit is open until January 25, 2026.
