At VIZ we have a "style sheet" for each title, and now we’re adopting the term for this weekly series about style at our office! We are a diverse group, but we have one thing in common: we love manga, anime and Japanese pop culture. Luckily, we don't have a strict dress code. So set aside your expectations of "work safe" looks and enjoy this sneak peek into the style, clothes and lives of VIZ employees…
Come back each Wednesday to see new looks to complement your own unique style! And you can see all our Style Sheet posts here.
NAME: Veronica Glover
POSITION AT VIZ: Editorial Intern
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area! Specifically the East Bay.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY AT WORK FOR YOU?
A typical workday for me starts with an unacceptably high amount of caffeine. Assuming my head hasn't popped off after that, I get to assist with all manner of editorial tasks. I've gotten to proofread lots of manga and write web text for some of the upcoming volume releases.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR FASHION STYLE?
I'd like to describe my style as a mixture of comfy, cute, fly hypebeast aesthetics. I like to wear the most comfortable version of whatever's freshest and in style.
HOW IS YOUR STYLE INFLUENCED BY MANGA, ANIME OR JAPANESE FASHION?
I love combining Japanese visual landscape/nature art with athleisure wear, so I own lots of clothes featuring The Great Wave off Kanagawa woodblock image, or I'll rock anything from the Adidas Kimono collection.
WHAT FASHION ACCESSORY CAN YOU ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
I don't think I could live without all my hype track and bomber jackets. I believe the right jacket can take an outfit to the next level.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK AS A CREATIVE OUTLET AND FOR FUN?
I love to perform. I participate in a lot of dance performances, and I practice a lot of yoga to stay centered. Otherwise, I can typically be found frolicking on the beach, playing video games, singing karaoke or hiking.
