Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys rises from the ashes and takes on a new form in Hidden Summoners! Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys puts a new twist on the Sacred Phoenix that was released in Flaming Eternity over a decade ago and breathes new life into Decks built around the self-resurrecting Nephthys monsters!

1108 Ygo 1Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is a Level 8 Ritual Monster that has 3000 ATK and a couple of awesome effects that can each be used once per turn. The first effect lets you destroy a number of Nephthys cards from your hand and/or face-up from your field and then destroy an equal number of monsters that your opponent controls. The second effect lets you Special Summon it from your Graveyard during your next Standby Phase after it’s destroyed by battle or by card effect.

The two effects of Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys work alongside one another. Since Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is a Nephthys card, you can use its first effect to have it destroy itself and take down an opponent’s monster. Then, Special Summon Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys back from your Graveyard in your next Standby Phase by using its second effect.

Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys’s effect also works well when used in conjunction with the original Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys. The Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys can be Special Summoned from your Graveyard during your next Standby Phase after it’s destroyed by a card effect. Since Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys’s effect lets you destroy Nephthys monsters from your hand or your field, destroying Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys with its effect will allow you to Special Summon Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys from your Graveyard on your next turn. When you do, your Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys’s effect will also kick in to destroy all Spell & Trap Cards on the field!

If you want to exploit the Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys’s power, you’ll need to Ritual Summon it to the field first. Fortunately, there’s a Ritual Spell Card in Hidden Summoners that’s perfect for calling forth your new Phoenix. The Rebirth of Nephthys Ritual Spell Card lets you Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed 8 in order to Ritual Summon Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys from your hand. As an added bonus, if you Tribute Devotee of Nephthys (a Level 2 Ritual Monster in Hidden Summoners) or another Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys to pay for the Ritual Summon, Rebirth of Nephthys will let you destroy any card on the field!

The Nephthys monsters never stay down for long. Thanks to its ability to revive itself from the Graveyard, Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is no exception. You can add Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys and other new Nephthys monsters to your Deck when Hidden Summoners  launches on November 16!
