The Pendulum Monster Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon is coming on August 15!
By July 31, 2014

You might already have Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician from Super Starter: Space-Time Showdown, but there are more Pendulum Monsters to come when Duelist Alliance launches on August 15, including Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon! Odd-Eyes is a new Pendulum Monster that works together with Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician to supercharge the speed and power of your Pendulum Summons.

Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon has a Pendulum Scale of 4, which makes it very difficult to use as a way to enable your Pendulums. The secret to Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon is that it’s a monster that you’re supposed to Pendulum Summon, not one that you should keep in your Pendulum Zone to enable Pendulum Summoning. During your End Phase, if Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon is in your Pendulum Zone, you can destroy it, send it to the Extra Deck and add a Pendulum Monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand. Both of the Magicians from Super Starter: Space-Time Showdown fit the bill, so if you start out with one of those two cards and an Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in your hand, on your second turn you’ll be able to Pendulum Summon and Odd-Eyes can return to the field as a monster!

As a monster, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon has 2500 ATK and the ability to double the battle damage your opponent takes when your Dragon battles a monster. And if you have Timegazer Magician and Stargazer Magician in your Pendulum Zones, their abilities will kick in when you attack, preventing your opponent from using any of their Spell and Trap Cards! With the right monsters to Pendulum Summon, you can even score an immediate win against an unprepared opponent thanks to Odd-Eyes and its double damage ability!

If you’re a Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal fan looking to try out Pendulum Summoning, Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl are the perfect monsters to Summon! First, Pendulum Summon them to the field along with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, then adjust their Levels and Xyz Summon your favorite monster. You’ll want to go for something with 3000 or more ATK like Number 22: Zombiestein (from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal manga volume 3!). If your opponent has a Special Summoned monster, you can win the Duel right there by using Gagaga Girl’s effect to reduce its ATK to 0 and then attacking with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon to deal 5000 damage and letting your Xyz Monster to do the rest. Even if they don’t have a monster, you can still dole up to 7000 damage this way!

You can also do a similar combo with the new “Satellarknight” cards from Duelist Alliance. Satellarknight Alsahm inflicts 1000 damage to your opponent whenever it’s Summoned, so Pendulum Summon it along with Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and another Level 4 LIGHT monster like the new Pendulum Monster Flash Knight from Duelist Alliance. Then, you can Xyz Summon Starliege Paladynamo (from the Zexal Collection Tin), drop any opposing monster’s ATK to 0 and give your Dragon the chance to inflict 5000 damage that way. A direct attack from the 2000 ATK Paladynamo will finish the Duel because of the 1000 damage you inflicted by Summoning Alsahm!

Winning the Duel in an instant is just one of the many ways Pendulum Summoning can power up your Deck. Check out Duelist Alliance at a Sneak Peek on August 9 and/or 10, and when the booster launches on August 15!
