Shining Victories Special Edition is a second chance to get some of the hottest cards of the summer, but it’s also a chance to discover some cards that have flown under the radar so far. Here are three great cards to look out for that aren’t lighting up the tables yet, but could start at any time!

Pre-Preparation of Rites is just too strong to never be part of a championship winning Deck! It adds any Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand and one copy of any specific Ritual Monster named on that Ritual Spell from your Deck OR Graveyard! This Spell Card mitigates the costs of Ritual Summoning otherwise incredibly powerful monsters like Prediction Princess Tarotrei or Saffira, Queen of Dragons, making them far more reliable and powerful! It’s also great for fans of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime as well as Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, since it lets you find Paladin of White Dragon, Paladin of Dark Dragon and Paladin of Photon Dragon so that you can Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon even faster.

Unwavering Bond is a Counter Trap that negates the effect of an opponent’s Pendulum Monster or the effect of a card in their Pendulum Zone, then banishes that card. Pendulum Monsters are intrinsically very powerful, and as we get closer to the biggest tournaments of the summer, Duelists will be unveiling their latest and greatest Pendulum Summoning strategies! When they do, you’ll be glad you have Unwavering Bond to block those effects and keep the offending cards out of your opponent’s Extra Deck!

Finally, Drowning Mirror Force is avoiding the spotlight because it’s been a long time since a Trap that you use in the Battle Phase has been strong enough to offset the fact that it can only be used in the Battle Phase. Drowning Mirror Force shuffles all of your opponent’s Attack Position monsters back into the Deck when your opponent declares a direct attack, which is the most devastating thing that can happen to one monster, let alone ALL of your opponent’s monsters! Some Duelists are using Drowning Mirror Force as a Side Deck card, but it’s only a matter of time before you’ll start seeing it everywhere!
