What a beautiful cover to start off the new year! Great art and tons of cute little cards, each with an adorable drawing on it. These are based on Hanafuda, which translates to "flower cards." They've been around for centuries and there are several different card games you can play with them. In fact, Nintendo got their start making these cards over a hundred years ago!

Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign
story by Takaya Kagami, art by Yamato Yamamoto, storyboards by Daisuke Furuya

For reasons unknown to me, Angels seem to be a neverending source of inspiration for manga and anime creators. I suppose there's something mystical and exotic about Western religious imagery to Eastern creators. Probably the same way the Buddha looks exotic and mystical to Westerners. That being said, it's always entertaining to see how angels are dealt with in manga and especially in Seraph. What I'm trying to say is, there's some pretty cool angel stuff in this chapter. Enjoy!

Seraph
