Master the game with these cards!
Once they were exclusive prizes for winning a major tournament. Now, the Darklords are storming back into major competitions as contenders thanks to nine brand-new Darklord cards in Destiny Soldiers!
The Darklords’ allure is rooted in their ability to do things that you could only previously do with Forbidden cards. Do you want to be able to play your incredibly powerful Spell and Trap Cards from the Graveyard whenever you want during either player’s turn? You can. Don’t want to pay any discard costs associated with them? Sure, substitute 1000 LP instead. How about that whole thing where Spell/Trap Cards that can be used from the Graveyard banish themselves? Gone. The Darklords shuffle those cards back into the Deck instead so you can use them later on!
Banishment of the Darklords is a key Spell in the new Darklord Deck because it adds any “Darklord” card from your Deck to your hand, other than another copy of itself. Unlike most search cards, this one can also grab Spell/Trap Cards, so you can even get the Monster Reborn-esque Darklord Contact or the Brain Control look-alike Darklord Enchantment. Early on, however, the card you want is Darklord Ixchel, a new monster that you can discard along with another “Darklord” card to draw two cards!
Getting “Darklord” cards in the Graveyard is really important because your biggest plays are about reviving Darklords with Darklord Contact and then using their effects to pay 1000 LP and copy the effects of Darklord Rebellion or Darklord Enchantment to leave your opponents open to massive damage. The best way to Summon a lot of Darklords at once, however, is through their leader, Darklord Morningstar!
Darklord Morningstar can’t be Special Summoned, but when he’s Tribute Summoned you can Summon more Darklords from your hand and Deck up to the number of Effect Monsters your opponent controls. As long as you control at least one other Darklord, your opponent can’t target Morningstar with card effects. Even better, once per turn you can send cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of “Darklord” monsters on the field and gain 500 LP for each “Darklord” card sent to the Graveyard that way. Morningstar is capable of turning Duels around in an instant, bringing an entire army of monsters with him to match your opponent’s while loading up your LP and your Graveyard for some forbidden Spell and Trap effects!
You can try out these terrifying tactics for yourself! Destiny Soldiers is available now!
