Harpie Decks got a HUGE boost from Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy, making them better than ever! Let’s take a look at two new cards that bolster the Harpie-centered strategy: Hysteric Sign and Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon!

Follow the Sign

Hysteric Sign is a Continuous Spell Card that gathers all of a Harpie Duelist’s most important cards into that Duelist’s hand. When you activate Hysteric Sign, you get to add an Elegant Egotist from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. Just like Mai Valentine did in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series, you can use that Elegant Egotist to clone your Harpie Lady and Special Summon more Harpies to the field.

But that’s not even the best part about Hysteric Sign! During the End Phase of the turn that Hysteric Sign is sent from your field to the Graveyard, you can add any three Harpie cards with different names from your Deck to your hand! That includes Harpie Channeler, Harpie Lady, Harpies’ Hunting Ground, and Harpie Queen! Be careful though, you can only use one of Hysteric Sign’s two effects each turn, so plan accordingly.

Although you could wait for your opponent to destroy Hysteric Sign so that you can activate its effect, that usually takes too long. You might want to speed up the effect by destroying your own Hysteric Sign with cards with effects like Harpies’ Hunting Ground. Though you can only use Hysteric Sign’s effect once per turn, it gets you three different cards and that should be all you need to put yourself in a good position.

Phantom Pet

Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon is a new Rank 4 Xyz Monster that can only be Xyz Summoned by combining three Level 4 WIND monsters. Once Summoned, Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon can attack directly and prevent your opponent from attacking your Harpie monsters or targeting them with effects. Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon’s effect is only active while it has an Xyz Material attached to it, and Phantasmal Dragon loses an Xyz Material during each of your End Phases. But with 2000 ATK and the ability to attack directly, you can end the Duel before your Dragon loses its last Xyz Material.

Harpie Party

It may sound tough to Summon three Level 4 WIND monsters and Xyz Summon Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon, but Hysteric Party makes it a breeze. Harpie Lady monsters are all Level 4 WIND monsters, and Hysteric Party lets you Special Summon all of the Harpie Lady monsters in your Graveyard just by discarding a single card. Combine three of the monsters you Summon, and your Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon will be all ready to obliterate your opponent!

Hysteric Sign can gather all of the cards a Harpie Duelist needs, while Harpie’s Pet Phantasmal Dragon is a strong finishing monster that is difficult to destroy. Stand victorious with these two new cards as well as Harpie Channeler in Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy!
