Halloween is coming up soon, and Shadow Specters has the perfect monsters for all of your spooky shenanigans! The Ghostrick monsters want nothing more than to play tricks on your opponent’s monsters, then hide away so that the targets of their pranks are left confused and alone in the dark.
Most Ghostrick monsters share two common effects: They can’t be Normal Summoned unless you already control a Ghostrick, and you can flip them into face-down Defense Position once per turn. On your turn, you’ll want to Flip Summon all of your Ghostrick monsters, activate their effects and attack with them, and then flip them face-down again! With Ghostrick Mansion on the field, Set monsters can’t be attacked, and if players only control Set monsters, then their opponent can attack them directly. However, any damage that isn’t dealt by Ghostrick monsters is halved to all players, so you can keep your monsters and take reduced damage!
The Level 1, Fiend-Type Ghostrick monsters are ready to protect your Life Points. Whenever an opponent attacks you or a Ghostrick you control, Ghostrick Lantern can negate that attack, and Special Summon itself face-down from your hand! If your opponent destroys your Ghostrick, Ghostrick Specter can be Special Summoned from your hand face-down for defense and lets you draw a card!
The Level 2, Spellcaster-Type Ghostricks flip your opponent’s monsters face-down. Ghostrick Witch can flip any opponent’s monster face-down once per turn, and Ghostrick Yuki-Onna puts any monster that destroys her in battle face-down permanently.
The Level 3 Zombie-Type Ghostricks are your most important monsters that bring all of your Ghostricks together. Ghostrick Jiangshi adds a Ghostrick from your Deck to your hand when it’s flipped face-up, and the more Ghostricks you control, the more options you have when searching! Ghostrick Stein adds a Ghostrick Spell or Trap card from your Deck to your hand when it deals damage to your opponent, and Ghostrick Ghoul can give one of your Ghostricks the power of all Ghostricks for one massive attack!
The leader of this spooky syndicate is the vampiric Ghostrick Alucard. While he’s on the field, Alucard will protect all of your other Ghostricks and Set monsters from attacks and can use one of its Xyz Materials each turn to destroy one of your opponent’s Set cards! If your opponent defeats Alucard, don’t worry. He’ll return one of your other Ghostrick cards to your hand, so you might even be able to Summon him again next turn!
Check out the Ghostricks when Shadow Specters is released on November 8! Or catch a Sneak Peek at participating Official Tournament Stores November 2 or 3!
