The Bujin monsters that debuted in Judgment of the Light are certainly powerful cards on their own, but you might find that there are a lot of other cards that could help and support them. Since Bujin monsters are LIGHT monsters, consisting entirely of Beasts, Beast-Warriors, and Winged Beasts, you’ll find that there are a ton of cards out there already which can power up your Deck!

If you’re already using Bujingi Crane, don't forget the original LIGHT monster battle surprise: Honest! Using Honest guarantees your monster will be stronger than the opponent’s, lasts for the whole turn, and works with every LIGHT monster in your Deck.

For another battle trick, look no further than Horn of the Phantom Beast. This Trap Card buffs the ATK of a Beast or Beast-Warrior (that’s most of the Bujin you’ll ever have on the field) by a nice 800, and lets you draw a card any time it destroys a monster. Honest and Horn of the Phantom Beast are both great for protecting your all-important Bujin Yamato, but they’re even more deadly with Bujintei Susanowo. Since it can attack all of your opponent’s monsters, Susanowo can use Horn to draw a ton of cards, or it can deal massive damage with Honest. Just make sure you attack their strongest monster first, so Honest has the greatest effect!

Since your strategy revolves around playing Bujin Yamato and protecting it, Kaiser Colosseum is a great way to keep your opponent from outmuscling him! As long as you have a monster, Kaiser Colosseum prevents your opponent from playing more monsters than you – usually restricting them to just one. If they can’t play more than one monster, they can’t Xyz Summon or Synchro Summon, and they won’t be able to use most of their best moves!

Fire Formation – Tenki is definitely a must for any Bujin Deck. Tenki lets you search out Bujin Yamato with ease, and increases Yamato’s ATK to make it even harder to take down in battle. Tenki also powers up Susanowo, making it even more deadly.

Finally, let’s take a look at some of the non-Bujin you’ll want in your Extra Deck. Since they’re all LIGHT, the Bujin give you access to Starliege Paladynamo! Paladynamo can reduce any monster to 0 ATK and negate its effects! It also replaces itself with a free draw when it’s destroyed.

Bujincarnation is extremely powerful, but it restricts your Xyz Summons to Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast Xyz Monsters. Luckily, there are some great Xyz Monsters to fit that role when you don’t want or need Bujintei Susanowo. Diamond Dire Wolf can destroy any card while destroying one of your own Beasts, Beast-Warriors, or Winged Beasts. Have it destroy itself, or better yet, a Beast-type Bujingi you want in the Graveyard! Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King can negate your opponent’s monsters, and also searches out Fire Formation – Tenki. Number 44: Sky Pegasus is able to destroy any monster, unless your opponent pays 1000 Life Points. If they can’t pay, the monster is going down; if they do pay, you’re still free to attack it anyway!

Bujin are truly great at what they do, with tons of ways to search out the cards they need, while destroying opposing cards and protecting their own. Try them out in Judgment of the Light, and you’ll see how powerful they really are!
