831 Issue Review 1Cover
art by Tite Kubo

Been awhile since we had a cool Bleach cover. And even longer since we've had Uryu! Actually, have we ever had him on the cover? *does research* No! This is the first time he's been on the Weekly Shonen Jump cover! Congratulations! Hopefully, this means we'll start seeing him more in the manga! Maybe a few more sewing-related jokes or something, although I suppose the story is a bit too serious right now for that. But you never know! One of Tite Kubo's greatest strengths is his ability to throw comedy right in the middle of an ultra-serious battle.

Bleach
by Tite Kubo

If you thought when the giant baby came out and ate the living arm (what a sentence!) the fight was all over, think again! Once again Kubo Sensei shows us the power of his imagination by taking the fight into yet another direction. I think out of all the fights in this entire arc, this is my favorite. I love weirdos, and Mayuri is one of the best. And he's fighting a giant arm! Good stuff!

831 Issue Review 2

One-Punch Man
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata

If there's one manga that's hard to predict, it's One-Punch Man. I definitely did not see what happens in this chapter coming. Don't want to ruin any of the surprises or the laughs, but it's got plenty of both.

My Hero Academia
by Kohei Horikoshi

The conclusion of the battle with Stain! It's been a team effort with lots of emotion, heroics and dramatic moments. Find out how the battle ends and what the repercussions are!

831 Issue Review 3

Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro

There is a two-page spread in this chapter that will blow your mind! And kinda gross you out. It's a testament to Shimabukuro's incredible talent as an artist and creator and a testament to his seemingly endless ability to keep coming up with jaw-dropping monsters. The stuff nightmares are made of. As a little boy with a healthy monster obsession, one of my favorite creators was Ray Harryhausen. Man, what I would give to see some of the monsters from Toriko animated in the Harryhausen style. That would be amazing!

Nisekoi
by Naoshi Komi

It's Raku and friends to the rescue! Marika's about to be married off by her cruel mother, so it's up to the gang to try and stop it! But there's just one problem—how can they get into the giant castle Marika's locked up in? Looks like it's time for some scheming!

831 Issue Review 4

World Trigger
by Daisuke Ashihara

Osamu's been taken out! Despite all his training and dreams of moving up the ranks, he's been blown out of the game and now has to watch his teammates and hope for the best. But as anyone who has played a lot of online shooters knows—there's always hope! Especially when your teammates are the Trion bank known as Chika and the Neighbor combat genius Yuma. In other words, it ain't over yet!

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma
story by Yuto Tsukuda, art by Shun Saeki, Contributor Yuki Morisaki

Soma gets a taste of his own medicine when he eats food so good it blows his mind! And his clothes off! But who could possibly make a dish so good that even he would be taken aback? Find out who and what it was!

831 Issue Review 5

Black Clover
by Yûki Tabata

The battle to save the capital continues! Asta continues to surprise everyone with his dogged spirit as he fights the madman attacking the city face to face. Will his magic-eating sword be enough to take on sorcery of this level?

One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda

The fight in Dressrosa may be over, but the action's not! The Straw Hats are in a footrace for their lives to escape the long arm of the law...not the character Law, but the Navy! They've had enough of their pirating shenanigans and have called in the big guns. And little guns. And every gun they can find! Will this be another great escape?

D.Gray-man
by Katsura Hoshino

It's the final chapter of the D.Gray-man JUMP BACK! From the get-go, the art has been absolutely stellar. And very Halloweenie! The pumpkins, the shadows, the spooky looking buildings, the monsters and the crazy perspectives, this is very close to just being a horror manga. Yet it's funny! That's one of the most interesting things about it. As my old art teacher would say in a New York accent, "The juxtaposition of horror elements set against goofball comedy makes for a most interesting experience." If you liked this JUMP BACK, I recommend you keep reading!
