Cover
art by Yoshihiro TogashiBeautiful, just beautiful. Yoshihiro Togashi is my favorite manga artist. I consider him a "mad genius." Someone whose body of work is often misunderstood, because it is so complex and unique. In my opinion, there really isn't anyone like him in the manga universe. He truly is an individual. And being kind of a crazy wacky guy who has been misjudged a time or two, I feel a special affinity for his work. Long live Togashi Sensei!
Hunter x Hunter
by Yoshihiro Togashi
Wondering why we put Hunter x Hunter on the cover? Wonder no more! This issue has the first part of a two-part HxH side story called Kurapika's Memories! Naturally, this will mean a lot more to you if you've read the Hunter x Hunter manga, but even if you haven't it's still a neat little story in its own right. Kurapika comes from a village where everybody's eyes turn a fiery red when they get excited or angry. Because of this, many people think they are cursed. No one is allowed to leave the village for fear of violence, but that is exactly wide-eyed Kurapika's dream. Knowing the HxH story, this is a really great little backstory piece. I love seeing his both his village and his people. And the art's really good! You can tell Togashi Sensei's inspired!
Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
The battle against Obito and the Ten Tails is taking a toll on Naruto and his allies's chakra levels. This battle is amazing on a lot of levels. But to me, it's interesting in a historical way. In the beginning of Naruto, we got to hear how the characters speak about the legends of yesterday. The attack on The Village Hidden in the Leaves by the Nine Tails, the Third Great Ninja War, and more. Now we're witnessing the exact stuff that will be the legends of the next generation. Naruto was once a bratty kid, and now he's one of the most powerful ninja in the existence of the Ninja World. It's amazing when you look at it from a larger perspective. Well, amazing to me!
Bleach
by Tite Kubo
Nostalgia chapter! Prepare to see lots of old familiar faces we haven't seen in quite a long time! Always happy to see the old school players mix it up with the new school. And when I say old school, I mean old school!
One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
Wow. All I can say is wow. After chapters and chapters of build up, this chapter delivers. There are still many things to be resolved, but I love the fact that Oda's looking ahead and preparing us for the next major story arc! Good stuff!
Cross Manage
by Kaito
Wow! Sakurai's really getting tough on the girls! But for their own good! It's nice to see Sakurai finally get some credit for his touch guy coaching, but still, 1,000 laps up and down a tall set of stairs is pretty rough! I should do that to lose weight!
Nisekoi
by Naoshi Komi
A positive horoscope has Raku going in circles trying to figure out what it means concerning his crush on Kosaki. However, her horoscope is really negative making her question everything he does. Can they figure it out? Or will fate ruin their relationship before it starts!
Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
As a guy who has doodled countless funny faces on stuff throughout his life, this chapter of Toriko is amazing! So many crazy-looking chefs! All with their own culinary specialty and techniques! Chefs are known to have strong personalities and creativity, but this manga takes it to the next level! And the Cooking Festival is off to an amazing start! The chefs have to compete in a triathlon-style contest to get the best ingredients before the other chefs do. These are the real Iron Chefs!
