Cover

Look, it’s our meatiest cover ever! It almost looks like Toriko and Komatsu from Toriko are having some kind of epic foodie tug-o-war. And look at that handsome piece of steak. No wonder Toriko is drooling. Doesn't it look tasty? Unless you’re vegetarian…in that case, shh, don’t worry, I got you. Just squint your eyes and stand back and—steak? What steak? That’s totally a pomegranate he’s holding!

Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
The battle between Brunch and Elg is really heating up! Put on your thinking cap while reading this chapter because Toriko gets into some seriously science-y stuff—there’s a little bit of physics, a lot about electrical currents and batteries, and some stuff about mitosis that I’m pretty sure I slept through in school. Mitosis is when you cut someone’s head off and two grow in its place, right?

Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
Holy ninja stars, this is an amazing Naruto chapter. It’s simply astounding how many surprises Kishimoto Sensei is able to pack into one chapter. First and foremost is Sasuke’s final decision about whether he’ll stand for or against Konoha. There’s also a few other revelations, as well as the reappearance of some old friends—or are they new enemies? I won’t spoil anything, but trust me, this is the chapter everyone will be talking about for days!

One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
It looks like Luffy and the crew are channeling their inner hipsters because there’s quite a lot of fake moustaches going on. Unlike that handlebar mustache mug I know you secretly own though, these mustaches actually serve a necessary purpose: disguising our protagonists! Several enemies pop up this chapter, and the last thing the gang needs is to get caught as the Straw Hat crew.  Also, there’s a dude in here that totally looks like Auron from Final Fantasy X. From the waist up, anyway. See if you can spot him!

One-Punch Man
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata
In this chapter, it’s all about the headstrong Hammerhead vs. Sonic the ninja! Which is better: brute strength or sheer speed? There’s also this crazy twist at the end that you have to read to believe.

Dragon Ball
by Akira Toriyama
Let me just say, rereading Dragon Ball in color is awesome and really puts some things in perspective. For example, I never imagined that the clouds in Lord Enma’s domain would be popcorn yellow instead of blue. But hey, you know that old saying (that I totally did not just make up): heaven...er, hell is like a bowl of warm popcorn. Meanwhile on Earth, I’m pretty sure Piccolo is breaking some kind of child kidnapping law.

World Trigger
by Daisuke Ashihara
Things take a turn for the serious as Mikumo is brought before the Board of Directors. The mood is tense until Mikumo runs into a familiar face. And what is up with the black-haired kid in the jacket? He seems more than a little suspicious…

Cross Manage
by Kaito

Cross Manage is easily my favorite SJ series. It mixes a gorgeous art style with humor, drama, romance, and athletics in a way that continues to work week after week. In this chapter, we see the girls face off against the deadly Choran Academy. Will they come out victorious or be eaten alive? Also, as a bonus you get to see Sakurai completely mobbed by a bunch of girls, which is hilarious only all of the time.

Bleach
by Tite Kubo
I’m going to be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of Ichigo—he’s just too broody and serious. But I would read volumes upon volumes about his parents, especially of when they were young. Partially because Isshin is ridiculously handsome, but mostly because their love story is one of the sweetest things I’ve read in a while—and I read a lot of shojo, so that’s saying something.

Nisekoi
by Naoshi Komi
Raku and Tsugumi find themselves in quite a bind—literally! With both of them handcuffed to a meter that picks up on a quickened heartbeat, shenanigans and mortifyingly embarrassing situations are sure to ensue.
