Nihongo Lesson 07/01/16

We see a very good Nihongo Lesson in your very near future...

By John Bae July 01, 2016

Welcome to the Nihongo Lesson feature. We strive to give you useful manga-based Japanese language tips and maybe even a glimpse into the translation process. This week's lesson will feature some terms from Bleach! No matter how much of a struggle it is to learn Japanese, it's nothing compared to what Ichigo is going through!

MIRAI (みらい)

MIRAI means "future," and Ichigo's MIRAI sure looks dim right now. Yhwach's power not only lets him see what will happen in the future, he can even change it! How do you compete against that? Actually, in the Fullbringers arc, Tsukishima could sort of change a person's past. That ability might come in handy right about now...

ZETSUBOU (ぜつぼう)

ZETSUBOU means "despair." Yhwach and Vetto from Black Clover sure love this word. Both characters use it slightly differently but with the same effect. Vetto proclaims that he's going to deliver despair before showing off his amazing power. Yhwach first shows off his power and then kindly asks Ichigo not to despair. It's a tough choice on which one of these guys is the bigger jerk!
