The game to save the future continues in Toshiaki’s Iwashiro’s Psyren volume 4!
By April 30, 2012

“To those who seek Psyren, despair and power…” And with those ominous words spoken by mysterious voice, Ageha Yoshina and his friends' deadly journey into the Psyren world commences. The apocalyptic wasteland is filled with mysteriy and bloodthirsty monsters known as Taboo. Even more disturbing is the fact that this world is really the future! Armed with Psionic powers, Ageha must find the truth behind this horrible world to save the future...that is if he can survive!

There's no rest for the weary in volume 4. As soon as Ageha and friends return from Psyren, they immediately start their Psi training. When Ageha learns the truth of his own terrifying Psi, he searches for a way to control it. His training ultimately leads him to millionaire Elmore Tenjuin, who is offering an exorbitant reward for information on Psyren. At Tenjuin’s mansion, Ageha meets children who posses Psi powers of their own. Will their powers help him control his own?

What I liked about this volume is the unique personalities of the characters. My personal favorite, Oboro Mochizuki, seems like a harmless and lazy movie star. However, this volume seems to imply that he’s hiding a darker side. I’m interested to see how his role plays out in the series. The heroine Sakurako Amamiya is also very intriguing. She may look innocent, but she’s the toughest character in Psyren. I love how she doesn’t let anyone mess with her.

The plot thickens in this volume as the mystery of the disturbing future continues to grow. Just when I thought I had it figured out, new revelations completely blew my theories away. I’m certain that the clues revealed in this volume are only the beginning of an even deeper plot!

What does the future hold for Ageha and friends? Can they find the secrets of Psyren? The only way to find out is to keep playing the game and to read Psyren volume 4 on sale May 1!
