Make Out Like a Bandit!

Make out like a bandit with Desperado Barrel Dragon from Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium!

Bandit Keith’s strategy is all about coinflips, relying on “luck” to do his dirty work. In Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium, Bandit Keith’s Barrel Dragon gets an upgrade: desperate times call for Desperado Barrel Dragon!

0222ygo0Desperado Barrel Dragon is a Level 8 DARK Machine-type monster with 2800 ATK and 2200 DEF. Normally, you’d need to Tribute two monsters to Summon a Level 8 monster as powerful as Desperado Barrel Dragon. But one of its special abilities lets you “cheat” the Tribute Summoning requirement and slip it onto the field without Tribute. That’s because you can Special Summon it from your hand if a face-up DARK Machine-type monster you control is destroyed by battle or by card effect! Popular DARK Machine-type monsters that can facilitate the Summon of Desperado Barrel Dragon include Mechanicalchaser, Jinzo, Barrel Dragon, Kozmo Dark Destroyer and Cyberdark Dragon.

The real fun begins after you Summon Desperado Barrel Dragon. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase, Desperado Barrel Dragon’s Quick Effect lets you toss a coin three times. Desperado Barrel Dragon then destroys face-up monsters on the field up to the number of heads that were tossed. Desperado Barrel Dragon can’t attack during the turn it uses this effect, but that’s a small price to pay for a shot at instantly wiping out some of your opponent’s monsters.

Get lucky and Desperado Barrel Dragon can even clear your opponent’s army of monsters right before they’re going to attack! If you’re extremely lucky and get heads three times, you’ll also get to draw a card. Get unlucky, and Desperado Barrel Dragon’s effect will be powerless to protect you.

The excitement continues if Desperado Barrel Dragon is sent to the Graveyard. If that happens, you can add a Level 7 or lower monster that has a coin-tossing effect from your Deck to your hand. Options include Barrel Dragon, Blowback Dragon, Twin-Barrel Dragon and Time Wizard. All of these monsters have powerful effects that only work if you’re lucky enough to flip heads, but if you stick with effects that flip two or more coins, Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium has a card that lets you treat all the results as heads!

Desperado Barrel Dragon suits Bandit Keith’s style in the original animated Yu-Gi-Oh! series and fits into DARK Machine Decks that Summon it with ease. It also works well in Decks that can manipulate coin tosses with cards like Second Coin Toss.

If you’re feeling lucky, Desperado Barrel Dragon might be just what you need to secure your victory in a Duel. You can get your hands on it when it’s released in  Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium  on February 23!
