Victory in the Forecast!

Weather the storm and come out on top with this card!

Spirit Warriors introduces two brand-new archetypes to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. The Weather Painters are Fairy Monsters that use their artistry to control the climate. Each of the Weather Painters have a corresponding Canvas Continuous Spell that gives bonus effects to Weather Painters in Main Monster Zones that are in the same column and adjacent columns of the Canvas. The payoff from The Weather Canvas Continuous Spells’ bonus effects are great but they require you to banish The Weather Painters to activate them. Luckily each of The Weather Painters can Special Summon themselves during the Standby Phase after they have been banished for a “The Weather” card’s effect for a bonus effect granted by a Canvas.

1123 Ygo 1The Weather Painters have five Effect Monsters and five corresponding Canvas Continuous Spells across the color and weather spectrum. Everything from The Weather Painter Sun and The Weather Sunny Canvas painting the sky orange with its paintbrush to The Weather Painter Cloud and The Weather Cloudy Canvas coloring everything violet with its fountain pen. However, rising above all of The Weather Painter Effect Monsters is the ace monster representing the whole visible spectrum: The Weather Painter Rainbow!

The Weather Painter Rainbow is a Link Monster with 2400 ATK at LINK-3. It requires 3 “The Weather” monsters to Link Summon it, but once The Weather Painter Rainbow hits the field you should have firm control of the game. Like each of The Weather Painter Effect Monsters, The Weather Painter Rainbow can Special Summon itself back after its been banished to activate a “The Weather” card effect. However, it is the next effects that really set The Weather Painter Rainbow apart from the rest. When your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s), you can send The Weather Painter Rainbow to the Graveyard to negate the Summon and destroy the monster! We have seen cards that negate Summons in the past have a very big impact, and having that effect on a monster is even better.

The Weather Painter Rainbow also grants bonus effects to “The Weather” Effect Monsters it points to: When a card or effect is activated, you can banish this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card! The Weather Painter Rainbow can completely take over a game once it hits the field, allowing you to not only negate whatever card or effect is activated but also any monster Summon as well!
