Starter Deck: Codebreaker is a new Deck that can introduce any beginner Duelist to the basics of Link Summoning. It also contains cards that can strengthen an experienced Duelist’s Deck. One of those cards is Transcode Talker! Transcode Talker is easy to Summon and tough to destroy.

0712 Ygo 1Transcode Talker is a Link-3 Cyberse monster with Link Arrows pointing up, down and to the right. It uses Effect Monsters as its Link Materials and starts with 2300 ATK, but gets stronger when it’s co-linked. Remember, Link Monsters are “co-linked” when their Link Arrows point at each other.

While Transcode Talker is co-linked, it and its co-linked monsters each gain 500 ATK. In addition, while it’s co-linked, your opponent can’t target any of those co-linked monsters with card effects. By co-linking Transcode Talker to your other Link Monsters, you can make Transcode Talker—and the rest of your Link Monsters—tough for an opponent to take down.

Transcode Talker’s last effect makes co-linking a monster with Transcode Talker easy. Once per turn, you can use the effect of Transcode Talker to target a Link-3 or lower Cyberse Link Monster in your Graveyard (other than Transcode Talker) and Special Summon it in a zone to which Transcode Talker points. You can’t Special Summon monsters during the turn you activate this effect, except for Cyberse monsters, so the natural thing to do is play this monster alongside the other “Code Talker” monsters and the Cyberse monsters with effects that help you gather lots of Link Materials.

Transcode Talker is strongest if it’s Summoned after you perform other Link Summons. That way, when you Summon it, you’ll have a Cyberse Link Monster in your Graveyard to Special Summon with its effect. Use a Cyberse Link Monster as a Link Material to Summon Transcode Talker, and you’ll be guaranteed to have a monster in your Graveyard to Special Summon with Transcode Talker’s effect.

Proxy Dragon and Underclock Taker work especially well with Transcode Talker. They’re both Link-2 Cyberse Effect Monsters that you can use as Link Materials to help Summon Transcode Talker. Proxy Dragon has Link Arrows pointing to the left and to the right, and Underclock Taker has Link Arrows pointing left and down.

Transcode Talker is easy to Summon and simple to co-link. It also packs a powerful effect that shines in Cyberse Decks and Decks that easily perform Link Summons. You can get Transcode Talker in Starter Deck: Codebreaker, in stores July 13th!
