Cover
art by Masashi Kishimoto
Hey, it’s the first issue of the new Weekly Shonen Jump! And what a cover to start off with! I love the pop-art feel of this cover, it almost looks like something Roy Lichtenstein or Andy Warhol would do. In case you’re wondering, we got this art as it is, we did not go crazy with the magic markers!
Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
Great chapter! There is a color spread in here of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura dressed in Samurai battle armor that I really hope to see cosplayed at a con this year. The chapter also has some characters we haven’t seen in a long time! And Naruto’s new power is pretty neat-o, too. High five, for the win!
One-Punch Man!
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata
The newest manga to join the Weekly Shonen Jump lineup! The background of this manga is interesting. It actually started as a web comic by mysterious mangaka, ONE. It got super popular and now Yusuke Murata, the artist of Eyeshield 21, is redrawing it. The story is also really funny. It’s about a goofy-looking overly powerful superhero and his frustrations trying to find a villain strong enough to challenge him. If you have a web comic, let this manga inspire you. You never know what can happen!
One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
Fun chapter of One Piece! It has been a hoot seeing General Franky in action! Been waiting a long time to see him in a real fight! And there’s an amazing Usopp moment that reminded me of why I love him so much!
Nisekoi
by Naoshi Komi
Oh no! Miyamoto has lost her glasses and is totally blind without them! Can Raku and Onodera help her find them? And what kind of antics will they get up to while doing so?!
Bleach
by Tite Kubo
Man, Bleach has been on fire the last few weeks! I have to say, ever since Squad Zero has shown up, I have really been enjoying the manga. And Kon came back! This chapter is also amazing if you’re a Kenpachi fan, and he’s in my top three. Tite Kubo is knocking it out of the park!
Cross Manage
by Kaito
It looks like the girls’ hard work is finally paying off, as they’re pulling out all the stops in their first game. As a total Lacrosse noob, I find the sport intriguing. I hope to learn more about it in the upcoming chapters. I also wanna know more about the team members' backstory, especially the big girl with the super huge lips. I’m really curious about her!
Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
The fight we all knew was coming finally here! The evil Gourmet Corp. facing off against the IGO! Although I’m excited, I kind of wanted to see more of the Cooking Fest! Some of those contests looked pretty neat. That being said, this should be one heckuva fight!
Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal
Original Concept by Kazuki Takahashi
Story by Shin Yoshida, Art by Naohito Miyoshi
Production Support: STUDIO DICE
The duel between Kaito and Hishakaku turns dirty when Kyoji chucks Kaito’s younger brother off a building! It’s not bad enough Kaito was forced into the duel, but that's just plain dirty! The Numbers war is getting brutal!
