Old Summoning techniques meet new ones in Cybernetic Horizon! The Cyberse monsters of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS era have always heavily relied on Link Summoning powerful monsters to win Duels. In fact, up until now, every Cyberse monster was either a Normal Monster, an Effect Monster or a Link Monster. Other advanced Summoning techniques eluded the Cyberse theme. But that all changes with Cyberse Magician!

Cyberse Magician is the first Cyberse Ritual Monster! It’s a Level 7 monster with 2500 ATK and an effect that halves any damage you take while it’s on the field.

0719 Ygo 1It also has a bunch of other effects that let it interact with other Link Monsters. While you have Cyberse Magician and a Link Monster on the field, your opponent’s monsters can’t target any monsters you control for attacks, other than your Cyberse Magician, and your opponent can’t target any monsters you control with card effects, except for your Cyberse Magician. While you control a Link Monster, Cyberse Magician acts as a protector of your other monsters.

Cyberse Magician also acts as a destroyer of your opponent’s Link Monsters. If it battles a Link Monster, it gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation. That drives its ATK up to 3500, making it strong enough to destroy just about any Link Monster in battle.

If an opponent manages to destroy your Cyberse Magician with a card effect, its final effect will activate. That effect lets you add any Cyberse monster from your Deck to your hand.

The Cynet Ritual Spell Card (also available in Cybernetic Horizon) is used to Ritual Summon Cyberse Magician. Since Cyberse Magician is a Level 7 Ritual Monster, you’ll also need to Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels are equal to 7 or more. Fortunately, Cyberse Magician offers a lot of power in exchange for that sacrifice. Cynet Ritual offers a bit of extra power too, thanks to its effect that can be activated while it’s in the Graveyard on any turn other than the turn it’s sent there.

If you control no monsters, you can banish Cynet Ritual and any Ritual Monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon two Cynet Tokens (Cyberse/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 0) to your field. You can use those Cynet Tokens to Link Summon monsters, supporting the basic Cyberse strategy.

Ritual Monsters make a big comeback in Cybernetic Horizon and can soon be integrated into Cyberse Decks! You can get Cyberse Magician and Cynet Ritual when Cybernetic Horizon hits stores on July 27!
