So, you’re a Duelist, you’re looking to throw down, but you don’t know where to go to find an opponent? You’re in luck, because we’ve got the inside scoop on how to track down Duelists in your area!

It all starts with finding the local Duelist hangout and learning when other Duelists will be there. The best places to find other Duelists are Official Tournament Stores, and you can find a list of them along with when they hold events here.

Now that you know the how, when and where, it’s time to get down to the what and why. There are many different events going on, but the most common are officially sanctioned tournaments. That’s when you bring your best Deck and compete with other Duelists to earn Turbo Packs, special boosters that contain some of the coolest cards. The best part is, you don’t even need to win to get Turbo Packs. You can get them just for signing up for tournament!

Most sanctioned tournaments use the Advanced Format Limited & Forbidden card lists, but it’s worth asking beforehand to make sure.

If you’re 14 or under, then you definitely want to check out the nearest store that runs a Duelist League. It’s a special two-hour event only for Duelists age 14 and under. It works a little like Battle City. At the start, you get a number of special Duelist Cards, and you can challenge anyone you want. Every time you win a Duel, you get one of your opponent’s Duelist Cards. When you have five, you can trade them in for a rare card that has an awesome colored foil name! There are lots of different cards and colors to choose from, but it’s best to win your Duels quickly. Everyone gets a card by the end, but the fastest Duelists will get first pick!

If you prefer the wacky antics of Maximillion Pegasus and his Duelist Kingdom, then you might want to look for a store that offers the Pegasus Challenge! The rules for building your Deck are very different when you play a Pegasus Challenge. In fact, they may even change from week to week! Put your Dueling knowledge to the ultimate test and win Turbo Packs and exclusive single-card binders only available to those who rise to the Challenge!
