One of the toughest Rank 8 Xyz Monsters ever released returns in Cybernetic Horizon Special Edition! Each Cybernetic Horizon Special Edition comes with three Cybernetic Horizon booster packs, one of two powerful cards from the past, one of two powerful cards from a future booster set, and this time, a powerful card from the past—Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy!

Number 38’s name may be daunting, but it’s not nearly as scary as its effects. Number 38 has the ability to negate Spells, gain Xyz Materials, redirect the attacks of an opponent’s monsters and increase the ATK of your Xyz Monsters. You can gain access to all of this power by combining any two Level 8 monsters to Xyz Summon it.

Number 38’s first effect is one of its most powerful effects and is the main reason that Number 38 has been used at the highest levels of competitive Dueling. Once per turn, when a Spell card or effect is activated on the field, you can negate that effect and attach that Spell Card to Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy as an Xyz Material. Many Decks rely on their Spell Cards to carry them through a Duel. Using Number 38’s effect to negate one of your opponent’s key Spells can seal your victory.

Number 38’s second effect lets you use its Xyz Materials to protect your other monsters from battle. When an opponent’s monster declares an attack, you can detach an Xyz Material from Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy to change the attack target to Number 38 and perform damage calculation. That’s a big deal, since Number 38 boasts a whopping 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF. That makes Number 38 a difficult monster to destroy in battle and a powerful defender of your other monsters.

Number 38’s final effect can increase the ATK of an Xyz Monster you control, including itself. If an Xyz Monster on your field is destroyed by battle or by card effect while you control Number 38, Number 38 will redistribute that destroyed monster’s original ATK to another Xyz Monster on your field. While Number 38 is on your field, even when one of your other Xyz Monsters is destroyed, that monster’s ATK won’t be lost. In order to reduce the amount of damage that your field of Xyz Monsters can inflict, your opponent will need to prioritize destroying Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy. However, due to its high ATK and ability to negate Spells, destroying Number 38 is not an easy feat.

Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy was first released in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG over two years ago and hasn’t been available since. You’ll finally have another chance to pick up Number 38 when Cybernetic Horizon Special Edition launches on September 14!
