Things in Karukura Town have finally calmed down...which means it's time for new villain!

Bleach CoverIt’s been a month since the infamous Aizen incident. People are healing and doing their best to get on with their lives. Some semblance of peace has finally been achieved in Karakura Town and the Soul Society… Things are going swell, which means it’s the perfect time for a new villain to make his debut!

An inside job is about to turn the Soul Society into a society of phonies. Strange events are put in motion when members of the Soul Society enter the Precipice World. The Precipice World is the dimension between the human world and the Soul Society. A lot of unsupervised shenanigans can occur in there, and one scientist knows just how to exploit it.

Bleach23 003

Kageroza Inaba, a scientist on the Research and Development Team, may seem docile with his dual-colored hair and cane, but don’t be fooled: his glasses are fake! Kageroza uses his brilliant brain to plot treasonous schemes against the Soul Society. After years of studying the Precipice World, Kageroza has become an expert on it. With his research, anyone entering the Precipice World is a pawn on his chessboard. He slowly replaces Soul Reapers with his impostors, leaving the originals lost in the Precipice's dark and twisted passages.

Bleach23 005

Kon, that rambunctious stuffed lion, gets a lot of screen-time in this arc. I always enjoy his rantings and ravings and was pleased to see him get his fair share of the heroic spotlight. I’m not so big a fan of him getting bullied by the cast of Bleach, but I guess there’s no helping that… It’s also interesting to see a villain who relies more on intellect rather than strength. Another new face, Nozomi, is a mysterious girl on the run. She’s pretty tight lipped throughout most episodes, but after her final scene (last episode in this set), I’m excited to learn more about her connection to Kageroza… If you’ve ever wondered what a fight between Byakuya and Byakuya would look like, you’re in for a treat with this DVD set. Fun fact: Kageroza’s coat may cause you to crave bananas while watching these episodes!
