I almost cried more than once this volume! But I managed to hold it together this time. I’m really enjoying this arc, so it was hard separate one favorite scene. So I though about which scene stayed with me long after I finished reading. And the one that keeps echoing in my mind is when Tomoe (in fox form) is lying collapsed in the snow.

A little girl soul wanders up, lost and afraid, but she’s worried that Tomoe will freeze to death.

At first he scorns her, but in the end he goes back for her and leads her through the blizzard to Izanami’s palace and safety. It’s a rather Grinch-like moment for him, but rather than his heart growing three sizes, the magic bulb that will turn him into a human starts to sprout!

Even if they can get the magic bulb to flower, Do you think Tomoe will actually go through with turning in to a human?
