2003 PRESS RELEASES
VIZ, LLC Announces September Graphic Novel Titles

Fish Got Legs? They do in GYO, Volume 1

June 12, 2003 (San Francisco, CA) – From the creator of the Eisner-nominated UZUMAKI and TOMIE, Junji Ito’s new graphic novel promises to be a very popular! VIZ, LLC, North America’s leading manga publisher for English speaking audiences, is releasing GYO, Volume 1 this September at specialty retailers nationwide.

GYO, Volume 1: Fish grow legs! From the mind of Junji Ito, comes this diabolic cross between Resident Evil and The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. Yes, it's GYO, the latest mind-searing horror masterwork, where terror takes the name of horribly mutated fish and sea creatures that invade, en masse, a seaside town.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO GET OUT OF THE WATER

Young couple Tadashi and Kaori are on vacation in Okinawa, but far from getting away from it all, their vacation deteriorates as something appears rotten in Okinawa…the floating stench of death hangs over the island! A strange, legged fish appears on the scene and so begins our intrepid couple's spiral into the horror of the sea. Mayhem ensues in Okinawa when a Great White Shark attack hits the beach—and it's got legs!
