| On
Monday, February 7, 2005, NEWCO doors will open at 295 Bay
St. The location was once home to the historic Northpoint
theater; the original address was 2290 Powell St.
Since 1967, the prestigious, single screen movie theater
showcased legendary films such as Apocalypse Now, The Exorcist,
Superman, Alien and Star Wars. A wide screen, cozy seats
and state-of-the-art projection drew loyal crowds again
and again.
It was at the Northpoint that George Lucas and Francis Ford
Coppola teamed up to create the American Zoetrope Studio.
And Lucasfilm made it a Sunday morning tradition to preview
movies to audiences; Raider's of the Lost Ark was among
those first screened at the Northpoint.
Entertainment was part of everyday life at the Northpoint
for 30 years. In this respect, NEWCO is keeping the spirit
alive. The exterior brick facade will still resemble the
old theater, marquee intact. The interior will be updated
with plasma TVs, monitors, ergonomically designed office
chairs, skylights and modern desks. Conference rooms will
be named after the usual or unusual Bryant St. hangouts.
We can't wait to welcome you to our new space. |
