The True Dracoslayer!

Complete your Draco Deck with The Dark Illusion!

By John Bae August 11, 2016

The Dark Illusion completes a popular series of cards that began a year ago in Clash of Rebellions! The Draco cards, both Dracoslayers and Dracoverlords, are Pendulum Monsters that were seen teaming up with the other new monster families from each booster set in order to gain the powers of every different Summoning type.

0811 Ygo 1Throughout the 2015-2016 season, the Dracoslayers and Dracoverlords gained the powers of Synchro, Xyz, Fusion and Ritual Summoning, on top of the Pendulum Summoning power they already possessed. But for whatever reason, maybe because of the rising popularity of Monarchs, that wasn’t enough! They desired their own Level 8, two-Tribute monster, and they’ll finally get it in The Dark Illusion!

Master Peace, the True Dracoslayer is Special Summoned from your hand by Tributing two monsters: one “Dracoslayer” monster and one “Dracoverlord” monster. Once during each player’s turn, Master Peace can negate the activation of any card or effect and destroy the offending card. With enough knowledge of your opponent’s strategy, you can simply shut them out of their key card and leave their field open to attack from Master Peace and its 2950 ATK.

In the event that your opponent can actually muster up the ability to take Master Peace down, you’ll get to Special Summon a “Dracoslayer” monster and a “Dracoverlord” monster from your Deck, effectively giving you back the monsters you Tributed in the first place. You aren’t limited to only having one copy of Master Peace on the field either, so you can eventually fill the field with huge Dragons that negate stuff. Even if you don’t ever draw more than one Master Peace, the fact that you’re using a Dracoslayer and a Dracoverlord to Summon it means that you’ll have the materials available to Summon the rest of the Dracoslayers from your Extra Deck!

Combine Master Peace, the True Dracoslayer with Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer for a devastating one-two punch that can clear the path to your opponent’s Life Points and stop them from doing anything about it!

The Dark Illusion launches on August 5th!
