Dueling Fury!

Become a Dueling savage with these primordial cards!

By John Bae April 20, 2017

This Spring, Dueling is pitting massive man-made mechanical titans against the greatest predators nature has ever produced in a Structure Deck double feature! Check out some of the most ravenous monsters Dueling has to offer, courtesy of the Dinosmasher’s Fury Structure Deck!

The strategy behind Dinosmasher’s Fury is best described as “survival of the fittest.” The weaker monsters are devoured and destroyed to Summon the stronger monsters, and then the same fate befalls your opponent’s monsters. Souleating Oviraptor can add a Dinosaur from your Deck to your hand or send one straight from the Deck to the Graveyard, and it can also destroy another weak Dinosaur to Summon a Dinosaur from the Graveyard. Petiteranodon Summons a Level 4 or higher Dinosaur from your Deck if it’s destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard. With these two cards, you have the basis of a strategy that Summons a constant stream of huge Dinosaurs!

The biggest Dino of them all is Ultimate Conductor Tyranno! Clocking in at 3500 ATK, there’s little it can’t devour, and nothing it can’t force into hiding with an incredible display of strength. It must first be Summoned from your hand by banishing two Dinosaurs from your Graveyard, but after that you can revive it with Souleating Oviraptor to your heart’s content. During either player’s Main Phase, you can destroy a monster in your hand or on your field to have Ultimate Conductor Tyranno flip all of your opponent’s monsters into face-down Defense Position, which sets them up for Ultimate Conductor Tyranno’s second ability: It can attack all of your opponent’s monsters and automatically defeat any Defense Position monster it attacks, inflicting 1000 damage in the process.

It can sometimes be difficult to get the Dinosaur strategy up and running because you generally need to put monsters on the field to destroy them, and you’ll often need to destroy more than one in the same turn. You can help combat this with the “True King” monsters that have been introduced throughout the 2016-2017 season. True King Lithosagym, the Disaster from Raging Tempest is particularly good because it needs to destroy at least one EARTH monster, like Petiteranodon, to be Summoned. You can also add Miscellaneousaurus, a FIRE monster from Raging Tempest, and True King Agnimazud, the Vanisher from The Dark Illusion to add even more Summoning power.
