D/D/D Chaos King Apocalypse is a Level 7 DARK Fiend-Type Pendulum Monster whose best “ability” is “availability.” Whether it’s in your hand, Graveyard, Pendulum Zone or Extra Deck, there’s at least one way to Special Summon it, making it a reliable card for starting or extending powerful combos. Its main monster effect is to destroy two face-up Spell/Traps you control to Special Summon itself from your hand or Graveyard during your opponent’s turn, which means you can Summon it before Traps your opponent has Set become active. You can also exercise an escape clause on the many damaging “Dark Contract” cards that D/D Decks use to set up their strategy!

One of the major strengths of D/D Decks is that they can engage in every form of Summoning from the Extra Deck. That includes Synchro Summoning, so Pendulum Domination includes a “D/D” Tuner Monster and a “D/D/D” Synchro Monster! D/D Lamia is a Level 1 Tuner that can Special Summon itself from your hand or Graveyard. The cost for doing so is to send a “D/D” or “Dark Contract” card from your hand or field to the Graveyard, and Lamia will be banished when she leaves the field. Like many things in the D/D strategy, this isn’t a cost so much as it is an opportunity! In a strategy all about moving cards into the right places, Lamia moves two cards at once, and like D/D/D Chaos King Apocalypse, she can get you out of a bad “Dark Contract” while setting you up to Synchro Summon.

Synchro Summoning is an extremely important part of the D/D strategy. Not only will you want to make use of D/D/D Gust King Alexander, which can become a non-Tuner Synchro Monster for Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, you’ll want to use the new D/D/D Cursed King Siegfried as well! Siegfried can negate a face-up Spell/Trap Card until the next Standby Phase every single turn. It works on one-shot Normal Spell and Trap Cards in addition to all the Continuous/Field/Equip Spells and even cards in Pendulum Zones. And if your opponent ever runs out of things you want to negate, you can even use it to block the damage from your own “Dark Contract” cards!

Pendulum Domination adds a whole new dimension to the D/D strategy, and you can pick it up tomorrow!
