VIZ Media is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team!
· 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
· Ability to fluently read, write and speak professionally in English A MUST.
· Knowledge of consumer entertainment such as anime, manga, games and related merchandise, and some exposure to entertainment media (comics, books, video) STRONGLY PREFERRED.
· Professional understanding of the entertainment market targeted at teen boys highly desired.
SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, and executes the marketing strategy for assigned VIZ Media brand(s) to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Leads the marketing lifecycle process for designated brand(s).
2. Manages day-to-day progress of designated brand(s) marketing planning and execution.
3. Measures the ROI for all marketing initiatives for designated brand(s).
4. Works closely with all relevant VIZ Media departments to integrate media mix plans.
5. Monitors and advises on designated brand(s) P & L.
6. Manages marketing budgets for designated brand(s).
7. Coordinates with the online team to plan and execute designated brand(s) social networking, social bookmarking, and other digital technology initiatives.
8. Maintains brand integrity across product lines, advertising, and all internal and external communication.
9. Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, editorial, online, legal, PR, design, and operations to execute specific marketing plans for designated brand(s).
10. Leverages appropriate external partnerships to maximize marketing efficiencies.
11. Provides marketing recommendations for acquisitions.
12. Prepares marketing objectives and schedules for all phases of product solicitation and introduction to market including, but not limited to sales materials and retail presentations.
13. Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in company's industry.
14. Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors.
15. Participates in key sales and marketing presentations as necessary.
16. Develops monthly and quarterly reports for management and licensors.
In addition to these typical duties, may perform other duties as assigned and required.
MINIMUM ABILITY, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to fluently read, write and speak professionally in English A MUST.
· Knowledge of consumer entertainment such as anime, manga, games and related merchandise and some exposure to entertainment media (comics, books, video) PREFERRED.
· Professional understanding of the entertainment market targeted at teen boys highly desired.
· Skill with Internet, MS Office (strong Word/Excel skills), and other PC software.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to express self effectively and to professionally represent the company.
· Ability to work effectively in a small organization with an emphasis on teamwork.
· Ability to interact with culturally diverse clients, service providers and staff.
· Ability to work legally in the United States.
· Ability to live in/commute to the SF Bay Area.
MINIMUM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION
· 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
· Equivalent of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not supervise the work of others.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily works in an office environment. Approximately 75% of time spent on the job involves use of a computer terminal; therefore, must be able to sit for extended periods and to utilize standard ergonomics practices. Must be able to use standard office equipment such as copiers, faxes, mailing machinery.
Must be available for periodic travel both domestically and internationally.
As part of a multi-media entertainment company, employees may be subjected to work-related images including content such as: sexually explicit images, nudity, and graphic violence. Employees must adhere to all applicable VIZ Media policies and procedures. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours, such as nights, on an as-needed basis, is required. Employees must be able to cope effectively with deadlines and multiple demands.
